Kitaumi launched the manga in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine in October 2016. The manga adapts the 12th volume of Tsutomu Satou's original The Irregular at Magic High School light novel series, known as the "Double Seven" arc. However, when new "numbers" appear at First High School, their lives will once again be full of trouble. In manga's story, Tatsuya and Miyuki desire a quiet school life. The second compiled book volume of Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Double Seven-hen revealed last July that the series will end in its third volume, which was previously slated to ship this spring. Majiko!'s Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Raihōsha-hen ( The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc) manga also ended in the same issue. The July issue of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine revealed on Tuesday that Tsuna Kitaumi's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Double Seven-hen ( The Irregular at Magic High School: Double Seven) manga will end in the next issue on July 18.
